I have this subject this semester about speaking skills mainly and I like the class.
It makes me think somehow instead of just receiving information.
We had fun session on public speaking today. At the end of the class however the lecturer commented that people who presented aren't thinking out of the box. Everyone is lack of creativity. And one of my coursemate said so too. Well, I don't agree most of it.
Think out of the box? What's ur definition for that from the first place. If you define people as not creative enough, what's ur creativity?
It leads me to the thoughts that, we, typical Asian, often lack of sympathy. And we don't practice praising attitude. Have you ever understand what it is feels like when you being creativity and people said oh you aren't? Some people they just can't be as "creative" as people want them to be. You can tell he or she what's the problem with them but won't you appreciate their efforts first?
It's just like when a child work so hard but she or he doesn't get an A. Will you say that she or he isn't smart enough?
But anyway, it's just part of the feeling after the class. We used to be commented by people and we accepted it quietly. We should fight and defend ourselves. Cause nobody understand us better than ourselves. And nobody have the rights to say that you are not this and that.
So, be a little bit more sympathy. We all are just humans. Why so mean? You won't get into heaven because you are mean enough. And the world doesn't get better when you trying to deny or critique on people.
That's a reminder for myself. For beig better.
